Several coaching centres of the renowned FIITJEE institute have been shut down unexpectedly across Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh, leaving hundreds of students in uncertainty.
Centres Affected by the Shutdown
The closures include major branches in Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar and Noida Sector 62, as well as in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, and Varanasi. Other centres in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal and Bihar’s Patna have also been impacted.
Why Did FIITJEE Close These Centres?
FIITJEE, known for preparing students for competitive exams like IIT-JEE, has shut several centres reportedly due to mass resignations by teachers. According to officials, the teachers quit over non-payment of salaries.
Initially, the institute tried to bring in teachers from other branches, but the arrangement only lasted for a few days. After that, the centres had to shut down.
Parents File Complaints Against FIITJEE
The sudden closure has left parents outraged. FIRs have been filed against the institute in cities like Noida and Ghaziabad. Parents have accused FIITJEE of abruptly halting operations and jeopardizing their children’s academic future.
One such complaint alleges that teachers at the Ghaziabad centre were not paid their salaries.
Teacher Speaks Out
“I have been teaching there for more than four years, but I left the Patna centre in November last year because I hadn’t been paid since July,” said one teacher.
Financial and Administrative Troubles
The closures have raised concerns about FIITJEE’s financial stability. In addition, the institute has been facing administrative issues, including violations of licensing and fire safety regulations, which may have contributed to the crisis.
Impact on Students
The shutdown comes at a critical time for thousands of students in North India, who are preparing for highly competitive exams. With no clarity from FIITJEE, the students and their families are now scrambling for alternative options.
This unexpected development has put the spotlight on the need for greater transparency and accountability in the education sector.
