Finance Minister Atishi has approved building a new district court complex in Delhi to help reduce the number of pending court cases. The new complex will cost Rs 427 crore and will have 55 courtrooms. It will be built in Rouse Avenue.
Atishi emphasized that fast and easy access to justice is a basic right, which can only happen with good court facilities. Right now, many cases are delayed because the courts are overloaded.
The new complex will make handling cases faster and will provide better facilities for judges, lawyers, and the public. The project includes two buildings: one with 11 floors and the other with 17 floors, both with three basements. There will also be 815 lawyer chambers and a skywalk connecting the buildings.
Atishi has asked for a detailed plan to complete the project as quickly as possible.
