Instagram has made a big update: you can now upload up to 20 videos or photos in a single carousel post on your account. Previously, the limit was 10. This change is rolling out to users worldwide, including in India. Instagram said this update will help people share more content and keep up with the end-of-summer photo-sharing trend.

Instagram also shared on X that this means more space for your summer highlights in one post.

The carousel post feature has been around since 2017, and Instagram recently added the option to include music in these posts too.

In addition, Instagram will now focus on "views" as the main way to measure how well your content is performing. Instagram's chief, Adam Mosseri, explained that they want to make it easier to understand your content’s success, no matter the format. He noted that a single user might view your content multiple times, and while "views" will be the main metric, it's also important to track "sends per reach" to get a full picture of how your content is doing. This change aims to give creators a clearer idea of their content's performance.
