The ceremony started with a kalash yatra, followed by a fire ritual and bhoomi pujan. A sacred stone from Kedarnath Dham was worshipped, representing the holy connection to the original temple. The event was attended by Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.
Dhami said, "I am honored to be here on this special occasion. The Burari region is mentioned in our ancient texts, dating back to the Mahabharata era. This holy land, home to Dayanidhan Baba Kedarnath, symbolizes the origins of Uttarakhand and Sanatan culture. This new temple will strengthen Shiva devotees' faith and promote our ancient culture."
Swami Kailashanand Giri said, "Building this temple in Delhi will help more devotees receive blessings from Baba Kedarnath. It will be a place of faith and spirituality for many people."
Ajay Tamta, Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, all seven MPs from Delhi, and Surendra Routela, founder and national president of Shri Kedarnath Dham Delhi Trust, also attended the ceremony.
Routela explained, "Kedarnath Dham in Uttarakhand is a center of faith for millions. We established this trust to build a grand temple for Baba Kedarnath in Delhi. The materials used will last for the next 100 years. This 3-acre site will include the four Dhams, with the largest temple dedicated to Kedarnath, followed by Badrinath, Yamunotri, and Gangotri."
