Recently, controversial IAS officer Pooja Khedkar, facing allegations of misusing power and falsifying disabilities to qualify for civil services, summoned police officers to her home in Washim, Maharashtra.
According to NDTV, three female officers responded to her request, arriving at 11 pm and leaving by 1 am. Khedkar, a 2023 batch officer, is accused of misrepresenting her disabilities and submitting fake certificates. She has also been criticized for demanding special privileges before starting her duties in Washim, having recently been transferred from Pune.
The Centre has set up a panel to investigate the controversy. Meanwhile, Pune Police are looking into allegations of unauthorized use of police lights on her car and the authenticity of her medical certificates.
In another development, police are searching for Khedkar’s parents in connection with a criminal case where they were filmed threatening individuals with a gun over a land dispute, a video of which circulated on social media.
