Instagram is trying out a new feature called ‘AI Studio.’ This feature lets creators make an AI version of themselves. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, talked about this on his broadcast channel. Right now, it’s being tested with a small group of creators and users in the United States.
Zuckerberg explained that soon, users might start seeing AI versions of their favorite creators and interest-based AIs on Instagram. These AIs will first appear in messaging and will be clearly marked as AI.
During the broadcast, Zuckerberg showed examples of conversations with AI-powered creator chatbots. Instagram has worked with creators from the ‘Wasted’ meme account and Don Allen Stevenson III to make these early versions of AI-powered chatbots.
These AI chatbots are helpful for creators with lots of followers because they can interact with their community and reply to messages.
Zuckerberg mentioned that Instagram creators can tap the ‘Message’ button to start chatting with users. Users will see a notice saying the messages are generated by AI, so they might not always be accurate or appropriate.
The creator’s name will have ‘AI’ at the beginning and ‘beta’ at the end. Zuckerberg said Instagram has been working closely with creators to build these chatbots. They help creators answer common questions from their followers.
Last year, Meta launched AI Studio, a platform for business owners to create AI-powered chatbots for messaging apps like Messenger, Facebook, and Instagram.
