A Shocking Statement Sparks Outrage
Samay Raina's show India’s Got Latent has landed in yet another controversy. This time, popular YouTuber and podcast host Ranveer Allahbadia, known as BeerBiceps, has sparked public outrage with a crude joke. The show, which was already under criticism for previous issues, now faces strong backlash, with many demanding its cancellation.
A Joke That Crossed the Line
During the show, BeerBiceps asked a contestant an inappropriate question about their parents, shocking everyone. Even Samay Raina, known for his dark humor, was caught off guard. “What the f***?” Raina reacted. Another judge was heard saying, “Kya ho gaya hai Ranveer bhai ko?” The joke received widespread criticism for its vulgarity and has led to legal complaints against the show’s makers.
Legal Trouble for the Show
Reports suggest that complaints have been filed with the Mumbai Commissioner and Maharashtra Women's Commission, calling for strict action against those involved. Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, also commented on the matter, saying, “Everyone has freedom of speech, but our freedom ends when we encroach upon the freedom of others.”
Public Demands Show’s Cancellation
The backlash against the show and BeerBiceps has been intense. Many social media users are calling for India’s Got Latent to be banned, saying the show promotes crude humor under the guise of dark comedy. One user tweeted, “This crap show should end. Vulgar jokes, racism, and hate are being shown as humor.” Another demanded, “Delete the episode and apologize to the entire country.”
A Pattern of Controversy
This isn’t the first time India’s Got Latent has faced backlash. Just weeks ago, contestant Jessy Nabam was caught in legal trouble for controversial comments about eating dog meat. The show has also previously been criticized for mocking actress Deepika Padukone’s struggle with depression.
Will the Show Survive?
With growing criticism, the future of India’s Got Latent remains uncertain. Many are questioning whether such shows, often led by Gen Z creators, are becoming platforms for inappropriate behavior rather than entertainment. Whether the show will be canceled or continue despite the outrage remains to be seen.
