India showcased a dominant bowling effort, limiting the USA to 110 for 8, and then successfully chased down the target in 18.2 overs.

Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube remained unbeaten, scoring 50 and 31 respectively, to secure the seven-wicket win. With three consecutive victories, India advanced to the Super Eight from Group A with a game to spare. The Rohit Sharma-led team will face Canada in their final Group A match in Lauderhill, Florida, on Saturday.

This loss was the USA's first in three games, and they now face a crucial match against Ireland in their must-win Group A fixture on Friday.

India's chase of 111 runs set a new record for the highest successful chase at the New York ground, but it was anything but smooth. Despite what the scoreboard shows, the team had a tense pursuit. The early loss of Virat Kohli for a golden duck and Rohit Sharma for a low score put India on the back foot.

However, Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar Yadav stabilized the innings with a vital partnership. Pant was eventually dismissed for 18, but Suryakumar held firm. Shivam Dube, despite struggling, provided crucial support and preserved his wicket. Suryakumar, benefiting from a dropped catch, made the most of it by scoring an unbeaten half-century.

Dube then secured the win by hitting the final run, giving India a significant boost ahead of the next round.
