During the 116th Annual General Meeting of the Indian Merchants’ Chamber (MCI), Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (GCMMFL), addressed as the Chief Guest, highlighted that milk has become India’s greatest agricultural crop. He noted that within the next decade, the country will account for one-third of global milk output.D
Mehta also mentioned that GCMMF has launched four variants of milk in the US to cater to the Indian Diaspora and Asian population. Looking forward, he emphasized expanding into Canada and exploring other global markets.
Speaking on the federation’s strategy, Mehta outlined plans for extensive product diversification in the US market, following the successful launch of fresh milk in collaboration with the Michigan Milk Producers Association. He expressed confidence in the demand for fresh products and announced upcoming expansions into categories like dahi, lassi, buttermilk, cream, and paneer.
At the AGM, IMC President Sanjaya Mariwala affirmed the Chamber’s commitment to policy advocacy and collaborative efforts with the government to drive industry initiatives.
