Next year’s Assembly elections in Delhi are coming up, and the Congress party is planning a major outreach program in the city. This effort will focus especially on issues affecting students, including those preparing for civil services exams.
The party will set up 16 to 18 committees to tackle different topics like infrastructure, health, education, unauthorized colonies, slums, villages, and concerns of traders and hawkers. These committees will include experts and members of the Indian Youth Congress, the National Students Union of India (NSUI), and the local Delhi unit. They’ll start gathering input for the party’s 2025 election manifesto next week.
Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav is organizing these committees. In the first month, the party will engage with various social groups, associations, and influencers. The following month, they’ll reach out to the general public. They’ll collect and discuss suggestions, refine them, and then send the finalized ideas to the party’s top leaders for approval.
The new manifesto is expected to address issues like the AAP’s subsidy schemes for power, water, and public transport, and it will likely emphasize improvements in education infrastructure in Delhi.
