John Cena, a famous wrestler from WWE, surprised his fans on Saturday night. He said he will retire after more than 20 years in the ring. His final match will be in 2025.

Cena, who is 47 years old, announced his retirement at the WWE event called “Money in the Bank” in Canada. He thanked his fans for their support over the years.

"Tonight, I want to tell you all that I am retiring from WWE," Cena told the surprised crowd. He has won the WWE championship 16 times during his career.

Cena started appearing on WWE TV in 2002 and became a big name in wrestling. He has also acted in movies like The Suicide Squad and Fast & Furious 9. Since 2018, he has been wrestling part-time because he's been focusing more on acting. Cena is also known for granting wishes to sick children through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Cena said he chose Canada to announce his retirement because Canadian fans have always supported him.

"In 2025, I will have my last matches at the Royal Rumble, the elimination chamber, and Wrestlemania," Cena said, pointing to the big events next year.

After Cena’s speech, the crowd cheered and thanked him.

In a press conference later, Cena explained that he will have a farewell tour throughout 2025. He will still be involved with WWE after retiring.

"I have discussed this with WWE for a long time. They agreed that 2025 is the right time for me to retire," Cena said. He added that he is physically tired and won’t come back to wrestling after retiring.

Cena said he is grateful for his career and looks forward to staying connected with WWE in the future.
